I Wanna Hold Your Hand

Yes, I'm back. And what a better way to celebrate the return than with the Beatles. You all know this one.
Here's one done by the band Sparks. These were brothers who formed a band in like 1970. This song is from 1976 and will either put you to sleep, let you enjoy a ride on an elevator, or make your poke out your eyes. It's a toss up really.
Here's T.V. Carpio from Across the Universe. If you haven't seen that movie, do so. It's pretty cool. I don't care if you think they "butchered" songs, just watch it for entertainment's sake.
Alright, and finally one that kicks bottoms. It's I Against I. And yes. Punk is always the best way to cover a song!
Here I go Again

There's a lot of hair associated with this song. And from the back, you'd think it was a group of women. However, it's dudes. Frequently, they are unable to fully button their shirts up all the way. But the message they have is simple. To rock. White Snake, ladies and gentlemen.
Alright, here's some crappy Macedonian cover band. Next Time is their name. You can totally tell that they don't speak English and that they only learned the words to this song.
Here's another Eastern European sounding band. Tose Proeski. That's all I care to know.
Here's some teenage band called Craab. They sound like Brits. The singer isn't right for this song. As are most chicks.
Yet another band from not the United States. These dudes are called Hot Stuff and they're from Brazil.
Alright, this one sounds like it was actually good. Mercury is the band. This is a short clip. You're probably glad...
Finally, I found a decent acoustic version. This is Ruben Santos. He seems like a pretty good guitarist.
In a Big Country

26 years ago this was totally awesome. I will confess, it's still awesome. Big Country is so in love with themselves that they came up with a song called In a Big Country. And I absolutely respect that. Kudos to them playing with all those balloons flying around! I'm also a huge fan of their bubbly African British bass player. And notice the dude with the glasses and wife beater. Just top notch classy individuals.
Here's one for everyone to hate. Dashboard Confessional. Is there anyway you could turn up the whiny vocals? That's the part I enjoy the most. (as I slowly slit my wrists)
Here's a band that is actually good. Face to Face. Very good attempt at this song. Not sure you could make the original any better. But I give this version a thumbs up...or whatever needs to be done to signify that I thought it was pretty good.
Where do broken hearts go?

Ahhh yes. Whitney Houston. You say all the things I cannot. Well, someone wrote this for you so that you could make it sound all nice and crap. I'm not doing any digging to tell you what album this is off or anything. "Greatest Hits"? Whatevs. This one goes out to a certain someone, and or anyone that is "feelin' it" in a bad way. And on a side note, Whitney, too bad you did all the crack, cause you used to be hot.
Okay, how about some super awesome amateur versions? They're the best kind right? This is some girl singing at her "nans 70th party." She's sporting the classy boots and dress look. She's actually not terrible, but that's beside the point.
This lady is really good! WTH? That's all I gotta say.
Okay, and the only reason why I posted this song at all... Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. I love these kind of videos where they just do funny pictures. I enjoyed it. Good work Comrades.
Don't Stop Believing

If you hate Journey you are a terrorist, or one of those people on Whale Wars. How can you not sing along to this? It's very very hokey, and that's why it's just so great. Whether its karaoke or in your car, by yourself, when it's dark, you can't help but just yell at the top of your lungs. May Steve Perry be sainted at some point.
Here's one by the band Flight 409. I actually kind of like it. I mean, it's not Journey, but I could say that about every single version. Check out their Myspace page.
Okay, these guys are pretty good too. They're the UNC Clef Hangers. Apparently that guy Anoop Desai from American Idol was once in this group. But I digest. This is an acapella version. Interesting at least.
Prepare to be overly entertained by what wikipedia calls a "Finnish symphonic metal cover supergroup". I like where this is going. I need to hear more! This is ridiculously over done and I love it. The Northern Kings, ladies and gentlemen.
And that's enough. There's a ton of Amateur versions of this song out there. Which is why you need to listen to this Family Guy version! (sorry it's the only one I could find that wasn't just stills.)
